Items on the ground floor area are systematically arranged by subject. They can be taken directly from shelf. Items of the circulating collection have a white label, items of the non-circulating collection have a green label and cannot be checked out. Items of the circulation collection can be checked out at self-issue terminals during the openig hours. Returns are possible at self-return terminal.
The room on the ground floor is equipped with a computer workstation, easy chair for breastfeeding, play pens, and high seat.
A changing table is available on the ground floor too.
The user-training-room on the first floor offers space for 24 persons. If there is no training the room can be used as a PC-Pool.
The first floor is conceived as communication zone. There are twelve different study rooms and two relax areas. It is possible to assemble the chairs and desks to fulfill your requirements. You can work alone or together, quiet or have a conversation. The study rooms can not be reserved. They are free to use for everyone. Two study rooms sre equipped with beamer and whiteboard. You can borrow the equipment at the security desk next to the library entrance. Please ask the staff if you need help.
The entrance to the roof terrace is on the first floor. You can work there if the weather is fine, or just relax.
Study rooms for PhD students
The study rooms for PhD students are located on the second floor. PhD students of Leipzig University (verification required) with a valid library card can apply for an individual study space. You can find the conditions on the website.
You can use book scanner for free in LUL. High quality scans can be produced and saved at a flash drive or send to your phone. The scanners are book friendly, environmentally friendly, quiet and low-emission.
A copy and print machine is located on the first floor. This service is offered by Canon Deutschland University Services GmbH.
