This is the web site of Leipzig University Library.

In German, we abbreviate this as UBL.

It is spoken: Ooh-Bee-Ell.

UBL is the library of the university.

A university is a place where you study.

To study means to learn complex things.

To study, one needs to attend school for 12 or more years.

People who study are called students.

UBL has books, magazines and other texts for everyone.

But chiefly for students.

Some books and magazines can be loaned.

Loaned means, you can take them home.

For a few days.

To loan you need to register.

After that you get a special card.

This card is called library card.

You can get your library card at the Info desk at Beethovenstr. 6 in Leipzig.
