As previously announced on 30 March 2026, the holdings of the Library of Archaeology, Prehistory and Ancient History will be moved to the open stacks at the Bibliotheca Albertina in August 2026. The relocation is scheduled to take place between 1 August until 1 September 2026. Therefore, access to the holdings and the use of on-site workstations will be possible until 31 July 2026. The library will be open from 10 am–4 pm.
The required media can still be requested by email at info@ub.uni-leipzig.de. Users will be informed individually about the location where the requested materials will be available for pickup. This will take place either at the Campus Library or – once the relocation is completed – at the Bibliotheca Albertina. During the main relocation phase, which will last approximately two weeks, there may be delays in making the media available. We ask for your understanding in advance. After the relocation, the holdings will initially be cataloged starting in September 2026. Therefore, they will not immediately be freely available on the shelves. However, requests for media can still be made at any time. As soon as the cataloging is completed, we will inform you here.
