Digital Humanities

Leipzig University Library is committed to make existing and continuously generated data on its collections available for research projects in the digital humanities. This applies in particular, though not exclusively, to the outstanding special collections which are being catalogued and digitised at Leipzig University Library. Bibliographic and technical metadata, structural data on works and objects, textual cataloguing data such as manuscript descriptions, and authority data are being generated in the process, in addition to image data in form of digitised texts and images. Going forward, full-text data from manuscripts, printed works and archival materials will also be given greater attention and made available as research data alongside ground truth data and text recognition models.

We will gladly advise you on our data and are available as your point of contact for matters relating to digital humanities. Please direct your enquiries and questions to perplies@ub.uni-leipzig.de.
