The Leipzig University Library catalog searches across a collection of more than 200.000 digitized items from the union catalog. Items digitized at the library can be found in our Digital Collections. Early Prints of the 16th century digitized at the library (VD16) are already included in the catalog.

All licensed e-books and a selection of open access e-books are included in the catalog. For more information look up "Access and Use of Media".

113,000 e-books provided by "Ebook Central" are not fully licensed but may be used on a short-term loan basis. This service is available for members of Leipzig University only [for more information see here].

The Leipzig University Library catalog includes nearly the complete collection of printed books and journals. For Special Collections, e.g. our incunabula, special catalogs and finding aids may have to be consulted.

Manuscripts and other Special Collections such as Ostraca, the Numesmatic Collection or Portrait Engravings are listed in special catalogs.

While searching the Leipzig University Library catalog you might find books which have not been purchased by the library yet. You can recommend these directly using the "initiate purchase order" button in the catalog. Furthermore there is a form to recommend items for purchase that are not included in the catalog yet. Within 2 workdays we will examine the recommended title and inform you if the library will purchase the item and when it will be available. Please note that this service is reserved for members of Leipzig University.
