Veterinary Anatomy Teaching Charts

Around 750 mostly hand-drawn teaching charts from the Veterinary Anatomy Institute have been transferred to the University Library and cataloged in the Kalliope catalog. For conservation reasons, the teaching charts were also digitized.

In recent years, hand-drawn teaching charts from the Institutes of Veterinary Anatomy and Veterinary Pathology have been transferred to the University Library in several batches and cataloged in the Kalliope catalog. In addition, the teaching charts were digitized to make them available for use without geographical restrictions. The teaching charts were created by the artists of the Dresden Veterinary School, which was incorporated into the Veterinary Medical Faculty of Leipzig University in 1923. Even after 1923, hand-drawn teaching charts were still produced. The teaching charts are heavily damaged due to their use in teaching. In a project funded by the Coordination Office for the Preservation of Written Cultural Heritage (KEK) in Berlin, the charts were secured and carefully packaged. Through digitization, they can continue to be used.
