- Individually administered acquisition funds
- Acquiring literature with the help of subject librarians
- Patron-driven acquisition
Patron-driven acquisition of printed books
While searching the catalog you find titles that are marked as not currently held by the library. In this case you can recommend a purchase directly from the catalog. We are of course always open to your suggestions. Please allow us two days for your order to be processed. We will inform you about the purchase of the book and when it will be available.
Patron-driven acquisition of e-books Ebook Central
There is a collection of not yet licensed e-books in our catalog (Ebook Central). These titles may be accessed via short-term loans, costs will be covered by the library. You only need your library number in order to instantly access the resource. This service is for members of Leipzig University only.
Leipzig University Library Document Delivery Service
You may also order articles from journals not available in e-journals currently licensed by us. You will get articles from our own collection of printed journals and also those from other libraries. We will make every effort to obtain the materials as soon as possible. This service is free of charge for faculty members of Leipzig University. Please use the request form.

Additional Library Card for Your Research Assistants
Teaching staff of Leipzig University may have two library cards for one library account. The second card is for research assistants, so that all checked-out items may be administered in only one account.
In order to benefit from this service you need to open a new account (for technical reasons it is not possible to issue a second card to an existing account). Please note that in case of loss of one card the whole set has to be re-issued.
Are you interested? Please contact the staff at the service desks in Bibliotheca Albertina or Campus-Library or write us: firstname.lastname@example.org.
You can create lists of course relevant literature in Leipzig University Library's online catalog and include it into your moodle account. Printed literature for current courses can be temporarily collected in a reserve list and will be blocked from borrowing by others.
To request a reserve list for a particular course please contact your subject librarian or the staff of the particular branch library. To make sure that your reserve list is available when the semester starts it is best to submit the request four weeks in advance.
An extension of the reserve list is possible. Please send us a message at least two weeks before the end of the lecture period.
