Submitting Theseses

One component of the doctorate/habilitation is the publication of the thesis, which can be done in different ways. The modalities are specified in the doctoral and habilitation regulations of the faculties. There you can also find information about how many copies you have to hand in at LUL and in which form.

Published PhD theses are listed in the LUL catalogue.

Instructions for the formal design of the PhD or postdoctoral theses:

In general, please pay attention to the specifications in your doctoral degree or habilitation regulations!

The title page of the PhD thesis/habilitation treatise must be designed as specified in the respective regulations. Information on this can usually be found in the appendix of the respective regulations.

The following information is always required:

  • Your date and place of birth
  • Names of the reviewers
  • Date of defense or award decision

Your curriculum vitae only has to be included in the PhD thesis/habilitation treatise if this is stipulated in the doctoral degree or habilitation regulations.
If you have any questions or uncertainties in this regard, please contact the dean's office of your faculty.

Your publication on the server must not harm the rights of third parties. When integrating external materials (illustrations, animations, photos, graphics, tables, music, texts, videos, etc.), the existing copyrights or other rights to the materials must always be observed.
