Hebrew Manuscripts

The complete digitization of the Hebrew manuscripts and fragments at Leipzig University Library has been largely made possible by the externally funded project Digitization of German-Jewish Cultural Heritage, which is supported by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media and was carried out between 2015 and 2018. All the digitized materials have been made available online by the National Library of Israel on its website Ktiv: The International Collection of Digitized Hebrew Manuscripts.

Shelf marks including the -symbol are linked to the Ktiv website or in some cases to Leipzig University Library’s Mirador presentation system. Whenever a shelf mark is not accompanied by an -symbol, the digitized version is not yet online. However, clicking on the link will open an email window in which you can request an image free of charge.
